open
Softly the snowflakes fall,
Tumbling down…down…down…
Laying a layer of glittering crystal
Upon Lord Winter’s icy crown.
During winter, the world is quiet
For with the snow Silence will lay,
And hardly a sound will echo
Until the crystals fade away.
Beautiful or deadly, ice lingers all around
And in the light it does glitter
Like some rare, precious jewel that
Upon the Lord’s crown does shimmer.
